JOB DESCRIPTION:
Univision 65, WUVP-TV, is
seeking a full time Photojournalist/Editor. Person will be responsible
for shooting video and editing video images for the daily newscasts
and/or special assignments. As an editor, must be able to operate various broadcast equipment. Must
be able to work effectively under pressure, under tight deadlines, and
in a fast paced environment while, maintaining a positive attitude. Required to work afternoons and evenings and must be able to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Skills: High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license required. Fluency in Spanish and English (oral and written) required. College degree and/or trade courses in video cameras, communication, broadcasting, and/or related courses is preferred.
Practical
knowledge of television editing equipment in various formats (DVC Pro,
Beta, and Non-Linear Software) is required. Must have full knowledge of
journalistic ethics and libel laws.
Experience: 1 year of news shooting and editing experience required. 3 years plus of news shooting & editing experience preferred.
Able
to shoot and edit news packages in an efficient and accurate manner.
Practical knowledge of television editing equipment in various formats
(DVC Pro, Beta, and Non-Linear Software) is required. Must
be have the ability to work with editing equipment in a confined space
for long periods of time and be able to use computer keyboard
proficiently
