Bring your strong analytic and problem-solving skills to Vanguard. As a developer, your work will include analysis, design, development and implementation of applications and databases for mainframe-based software. You'll be responsible for writing code, programs, ad hoc queries and reports, and testing systems throughout the life cycle.

While working in a team environment, you'll learn and follow software development methodology and architectural standards. Through your work, you'll learn about client needs and gain an understanding of Vanguard's tools, technologies, and applications/databases, including those that interface with business area and systems. You'll write the system/technical portion of assigned deliverables.

Position Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
- General business experience, including minimum of one year developer or systems analyst experience.
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of the following development practices and concepts:
- Systems analysis and design techniques
- System/subsystem requirements
- Libraries, reusable code, and/or object oriented standards
- Screen, report, and query design
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of host development skills including ability to develop in Cobol and Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Understanding of relational databases.
