opportunity to combine your senior management, engineering, and
distribution center design experience and be part of a true winning
team. Consider joining QVC as the nextVice President of Distribution
Engineering and Planning.
This executive level position is
responsible for all technical services and planning management
functions and is also the senior contact for vendors. By having a
detailed understanding of QVCs internal and external engineering
infrastructure, this individual partners with a cross-functional
leadership team (Distribution, Finance, Human Resources, Facilities) to
set the overall strategic vision that will yield optimal service and
cost results, while fostering a positive work climate. In order to
develop such strategies, and ensure plans are being effectively
executed, the successful candidate outlines objectives and provides
regular direction to the Managers within the organization. Regular
interaction with Senior and Executive Leadership of organizations
internal and external to QVC is required, and building credibility as
the resident expert in Engineering, Technical Services and Planning
strategy is a must.
Additional responsibilities include:
•
Lead the Technical Services and Planning organization to provide cost
effective facilities and processes that are technologically current and
provide competitive functionality required to support the distribution
/ fulfillment organization.
• Lead the Technical Services and
Planning organization to ensure that the equipment, buildings, fixtures
and material handling systems are developed and maintained to deliver
the required functionality and capacity necessary to execute the
business requirements.
• Provide linkage to external organizations
such as clients, consultants, vendors and competitors to ensure that
QVCs expectations are fulfilled completely and competitively.
•
Develop and implement strategies and processes for expansion of the
company, particularly as it relates to the distribution / fulfillment
operation.
• Ensure that appropriate external and internal
benchmarking processes are in place and that the results are utilized
to position QVC as one of the top distribution logistics organizations.
•
Review existing operations to determine what improvements can be made
with particular attention being paid to areas that allow for improved
customer satisfaction, improved culture and cost reductions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelors degree in Engineering required; Masters degree preferred.
15+ years related experience, including a minimum of 7 years management experience.
Distribution Center (DC) design, material handling and planning experience strongly preferred.
Technical knowledge of supply chain engineering, systems, design, and technical project management.
Demonstrated
successes in staff development and project management as well as
demonstrated leadership, initiative and decision making skills.
Experience in a B2C retail envionment is strongly preferred.
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally required.
